MAC Absolute Power Lipstick Review
During the holidays I wore my MAC Ruby Woo Lipstick without fail. It is my go to lipstick whenever I feel like I’m so ugly and dull. It instantly makes me look alive and fun. Before, I didn’t like wearing red lipstick since it is so noticeable. I don’t like too much attention but when I got my MAC Ruby Woo I was sold that red lipstick looks perfect on me. I look much better with it than any other lipstick I’ve got. I was really disappointed that I didn’t get anything from MAC’s Marilyn since there were a lot of nice red lipsticks in that collection. So, when I learned that MAC’s next collection, Strength, has a nice red lipstick I preordered it right away. I really didn’t want to miss it and have those sleepless nights thinking why I’m so frugal. You know what I mean.
The Absolute Power Lipstick is described by MAC as rich red.
Color
In the tube Absolute Power looks really dark. Once swatched it is not that dark anymore. On NC30ish skin tone with yellow tones (which I believe I have) this red lipstick is darker than MAC Ruby Woo. Ruby Woo is brighter and is a more fun color. This color reminds me of women who are powerful, in charge and do big business. The color sets the mood that I’m not the person you mess with lol. The name really says all about the color.
I’ll say this is a buildable color since I could wear it sheer by just patting it on my lips and for a bolder look I have to swipe it a few times. It is really opaque with just one swipe! It has slight pink tones but not that noticeable once intensified.
Finish & Texture
Same with my MAC Strong Woman Lipstick also from the Strength collection, Absolute Power is matte but with really great texture. It is creamy, glides well on my lips and doesn’t emphasize dry patches. I also particularly love that this doesn’t settle on my lip lines. I just don’t like that ugly sight. This didn’t dry out my lips unlike my experience with MAC Ruby Woo! Boy, sometimes it feels like my lips are dehydrated but yeah Ruby Woo will still be my HG Lipstick!
Staying Power
Great I say! I never have problems with MAC matte, semi-mat and satin finish lipsticks. In my experience all the lipstick I had with them has great staying power ranging from 4-6 hours still depending on the color. Darker colors tend to stay longer and leave a stain. I say Absolute Power looks fab on me for about 6 hours without eating. It would not be completely gone right after eating since it leaves a stain. I even have to use a makeup remover to remove the stains since I don’t like stains on my lips while sleeping. One time I forgot to remove MAC Rebel Lipstick’s stains and it left me with dryness and one part of my lip cracked and it really hurts from then on I never sleep with lip stains on my lips.

Final Thoughts
I guess I won’t be reaching for the MAC Absolute Power Lipstick that often since I don’t work in an office anymore but in case I’ll be having any interviews or special meetings I’ll definitely use this. If you are looking for a serious red lipstick try to grab this one and you won’t regret it.
